Anderson, Phillip and Denise

Biography

After spending a year serving as volunteers in Northern Thailand, where God called them to full time service, the Andersons were assigned to the Caribbean region.  There, Phillip served as the Regional Communications Coordinator and Denise as the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Regional Coordinator.

Two years into their time in the Caribbean, where they lived in the Dominican Republic, the Andersons were asked to serve on the Africa Region.  They have now finished their first year of service in Africa, where Phillip is the Regional Communications Coordinator and Denise serves as the Coordinator of the BTh distance education program at Nazarene Theological College and the Assistant to the Regional Compassionate Ministries Coordinator in Child Development and Child Sponsorship.

Since the inception of serving as missionaries, Makenzie and Morgyn have been a part of their ministries.  In the Dominican Republic, the girls accompanied them  in child development and disaster response work.  In South Africa, Makenzie has taken an interest in video editing.  Both love to minister to children.  They both have a great ministry to younger children on the complex.

Prior to serving as missionaries, Phil and Denise were just ordinary lay people who ministered in many ways in their local church.  Phil worked for the state park system, while Denise was a Social Work professor at a state university.  Neither of them had ever seen themselves in full time ministry, but now they can't imagine anything else.

Phillip enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, reading, photography, videography and anything outdoors.  Denise loves to exercise, hike, take pictures, swim, read and invite people to their home for meals.  The girls both love swimming, playing on the computer, reading, doing arts and crafts, playing with other kids (of any age) and watching movies.  In each place they have served, they have had such unique opportunities to do the things they enjoy as a family.

Having lived and served in four diverse countries, the Andersons feel so blessed to be called to serve their Savior.
