Almeida, Fernando and Liliana
Biography
Fernando and Liliana Almeida are global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene. They are both currently serving in the area of administration on the South America Region, assigned to Argentina.
Liliana has an undergraduate degree in sociology, which she earned from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 1994. Fernando earned a diploma in Bible and theology in 1991 from the Instituto Biblico Portugues and an M.A. in theology in 2000 from Nazarene Theological College in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Prior to their assignment to the South America Region, they served in various capacities on the Western Mediterranean Field. Fernando has served as pastor, field manager, college professor, academic dean and field theological education by extension coordinator. Liliana has served in administration and field NYI coordinator, as well as fulfilling roles in local church NYI, NMI and Sunday School.
Since she was very little, Liliana has felt that the Lord was nurturing in her a call to missions. This resulted from the ministry of the many missionaries who have influenced her life as she grew up in Cape Verde. Fernando says that they now have the challenge to go wherever the Lord leads them—to use their gifts and abilities as they reach out to other nations and cultures with God's love and grace. The psychological, sociological, spiritual and physical needs of our world strengthen their desire to share the difference God can make in lives.
The Almeidas have two children, Nicole and André. Their home church is the Costa do Sol Church of the Nazarene in Portugal.
