Gschwandtner, Hermann and Brigitte
Biography
Hermann and Brigitte Gschwandtner are global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene on the Eurasia Region.
Hermann has served for over 30 years as a missionary leader and pastor. He has studied theology at the universities of Tuebingen, Erlangen, and Edinburgh and is the author of more than ten books and numerous articles.
Brigitte graduated from Brake Bible School in Germany. Her primary responsibility has been to care for their three children Christina, Joe, and Dorli, and maintain the home during her husband's many travels. As a translator and author of several novels, she tries to convey Christian principles in an appealing way.
In 1989 the Church of the Nazarene called them to open up the work in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Hermann's primary responsibility has been to prepare the way for Nazarene ministry and missionaries. During the last twelve plus years a major emphasis has been to give guidance to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, the Jesus Film and Church Planting in South Asia where roughly 25% of the world population lives (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan). He is also serving as coordinator for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Europe (excluding the CIS).
