McKeithen, Timothy and Susan

Biography

Tim and Susan McKeithen are global missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene in the country of Chile since August 2008. They work through the Southern Cone Field in South America where they focus on national ministries and theological education. They served as missionaries in Argentina for 6 1/2 years and as Tentmakers missionaries for 5 years in Hong Kong and 9 years in Barcelona, Spain.

Tim is the Coordinator of National Integrated Ministries for Chile. He works directly with the elected national ministry coordinators in the following Chilean recognized ministries: Evangelism, Discipleship, Youth (NYI), Sunday School (SMDI), Missions (NMI), World Missions SAM (SAM Region), Compassion, Literature, Ladies Ministry, Communications, Pastoral Leadership, Theological Education, and Leadership Development. Each national ministry coordinator has formed a nation-wide team of leaders in that ministry on the district level who, likewise have formed ministry teams made up of leaders in the local churches. The goal is to have the largest percentage possible of lay people active in ministry in the local church, thus, mobilizing the church to complete the Great Commission of making Christ-like disciples.

Susan is the National Coordinator of Decentralized Theological Education for the Chilean Nazarene Bible Seminary. Chile has 4 districts and 10 centers to prepare those called to the ministry, who will respond to God’s call as Chilean district superintendents, pastors and missionaries. This program (ETED) also prepares ministers for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene. Susan’s role is to follow up on all aspects of the program in Chile. ETED has always played an important role in the growth of the church.

Tim and Susan have two children, Julie, 19, and David, 17. Julie is a junior and theatre major at Point Loma Nazarene University and David is graduating High School at the Santiago Christian Academy.
