Scott, Jon and Margaret

Biography

Jon and Margaret Scott are global missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene.

The Scotts currently reside in the country of Malawi where Jon is the Principal of the Nazarene Theological College of Central Africa.  Margaret is the Lusophone (Portuguese speaking) Field Education Coordinator and is also the Chairperson of the Africa Region Course of Study.  They have been in Malawi since July of 2007.  Before their move to Malawi they served in Mozambique beginning in May 2002.

The Scotts have been Nazarene missionaries since 1974.  Previous to their assignment in Mozambique, they served in Portugal, the Azores and Romania.  In each assignment they have worked in leadership development.  They opened the work of the Church of the Nazarene in Romania in 1992 with an initial emphasis on compassionate ministries, and then education and leadership development.

The Scotts are 1969 graduates of Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois.  Jon received a degree in business administration, then the M.R.E. from Nazarene Theological Seminary; Margaret received a degree in biology secondary education from Olivet, then an M.E. from Eastern Nazarene College.  She received her PhD in Education and Curriculum Design from the University of Pretoria in October of 2007.  Margaret was ordained as an elder on the Washington Pacific District in 2004.   Jon was ordained by the same district in 1982.

The Scotts have four adult children and four beautiful grandchildren.
