Biography
Philip and Ruth McAlister are specialized assignment missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene in Northern Europe where he has served as Field Director since January 2002.
Philip received a diploma of Education in Physical Education and General Studies from the University of London in 1976 and received the ThB degree from Nazarene Theological College in Manchester, England in 1987.
Philip has previously pastored the Irvine, Scotland Church of the Nazarene and the Carrickfergus Church of the Nazarene in Northern Ireland.
Since God sanctified him in February 1983, he has made himself totally available to Him for whatever He wanted or needed him to do. At the General Assembly 2001, he sensed God asking him to release his hold over the church he was pasturing and again lay his life totally before Him. About the same time he was challenged to read the book The Prayer of Jabez. He preached a series of sermons on the prayer and challenged his people to pray the prayer for one month. On the fourth Thursday of the month, he was asked to accept the appointment of Field Director for Northern Europe.
Philip's vision for Northern Europe is that the Church of the Nazarene would become a church planting movement, reaching the lost for Christ and bringing people into a vital, living relationship with the Savior God. He has a desire to see revival fire again in Northern Europe.
Philip and Ruth have three children: Stephen, Jonathan, and Ruth.
